Planning an Awesome Day at the Parks
How Lightning Lane Works
You make Lightning Lane bookings through the Tip Board in the My Disney Experience app. Tap the ride you want, select the return time, confirm your party, and you're set. When your window arrives, head to the Lightning Lane entrance and skip the standby line.
You can purchase Lightning Lane the same day as your park reservation and make your first booking at 7 AM, whether you're at a Disney hotel or one of our Kissimmee vacation homes.
Cost varies by park, day, and expected attendance. Busier days cost more, but the time saved is almost always worth it, especially with young kids.
The 120-Minute Rebooking Rule
The timer starts when you make the reservation, not based on the return time. Book at 7 AM for a 4 PM ride, and you can book again at 9 AM. Book at 9 AM for 3 PM, then again at 11 AM for 2 PM.
By the time you arrive at the park around noon, you already have multiple Lightning Lane reservations stacked. Spend your first hour grabbing lunch and hopping on lower-wait rides. Then hit your top 5 attractions back to back with virtually no waiting.
Start Planning Early. Arrive at Noon. Ride Everything.
Skip rope drop. Start your morning at 7 AM from the pool, coffee in hand, booking Lightning Lane reservations from the app. By noon, you'll have multiple return times stacked and ready. Ride your top 5 attractions in about 4 hours with virtually no waiting.
